[This is Chapter 3 of my novel, “In The Wake Of Chaos.” I encourage you to read the front matter, intro and chapters previously posted first to get the full richness of this magical story.]
“there is no turning back now...”
Well, well, well. Not only did I wake up the very next morning still rooted in a state of unrest, but so did millions and millions of others—especially the women.
Like a double hangover.
Shock and disbelief most everywhere you look.
Black, white, Hispanic, male, female, and pretty much everyone I knew raised their voices to be heard.
“How could this have happened?” “What’s this country coming to?” “What are we going to do?” could be heard from every nook and cranny far and wide.
And from those who were happy as hell, if not also surprised at Trumps against all odds win, we heard the disparaging remarks like, “Get over it.” “You’re such a crybaby snowflake.” “Just deal with it.”
Shoot me already.
Oh joy, what are the chances that the first person I run into at work is my boss Larry?
And actually, even before I got in the building. There he was just as I was reaching the main door. Funny, but the look on his face was unfazed and like any other day.
Shit, I forgot to listen to his voicemail this morning.
“Maddie, I’m glad we caught up before you get started on anything else.” Fishing out a handwritten note from his pocket, Larry went on, “Here’s a list of things I want you to research. Let me know what you can dig up by lunch. By the way, are you free for lunch?”
What the hell? He can’t be serious, can he?
Does he think today is just a regular day with nothing unusual going on? Wasn’t this the end of the world? Who has time to eat anyway? An awkward pause ensued.
Larry asked again, “Lunch, are you free for lunch?”
“Um, maybe?” was all I could muster up.
Once I got to my desk, I retrieved his voicemail from the night before, “Shit’s about to hit the fan. Get in as soon as possible and don’t expect any time off in the near future. We’ve got to cover this story from every possible angle.”
Great. No rest for the weary.
Or better said, no rest for the teary!!
As reporters, especially at The Post, the next few days will turn into weeks, then weeks blurred into months, and for the majority of this time my head will usually in a daze, not really knowing if it was morning, afternoon, weekday, or the weekend.
And my boss has the audacity to ask if I’m free for lunch? Ha! This supposedly highly educated man, can sure be a moron at times. Think I’ll find an excuse to pass on his invite. His handmade list should do the trick.
From that minute on, I put my head down and tried to carry on in a professional manner. Hell, I’m an investigative reporter. Time to investigate and report.
But first, I need to return Allie’s call.
“Oh my God girl, how are you holding up?” were the first words out of her mouth after answering the phone.
I began by saying, “Not sure. I’m at my desk going through the motions, but am probably still in a state of shock. How about you?”
“Blindsided.”
“I think we need a MAMA call,” suddenly blurted from my lips. All I could hear in response was laughter.
“Ya think?”
“But you know they’re going to be happy about all of this, right?” confirming the obvious.
Back in our Georgetown dorm college days, Allie and I became a foursome with two other girls. Despite the fact we were complete opposites with Mackenzie and Ashley, it worked and we all became fast friends. Inseparable in fact.
Many nights and countless vodka sodas were consumed debating one thing or another. Usually politics, since we were all political science majors. Early on, and in hysterics, we named ourselves the MAMA sisters.
Holy hell, we must have been psychic or something choosing a name so eerily close to the eventual MAGA moniker. But, for us, MAMA stood for Make America Magical Again. We laughed our asses off making up that code name to represent the four of us; M for Madison, A for Allison, M for Mackenzie, and A for Ashley.
A bunch of mama girls, for sure.
“I’ll set up a group chat for tonight,” Allie assured me, ”Will that work for you?”
“I’ll make it work,” answering before cutting the call short to get back to that laundry list Larry had given me. It will be nice to have a sisters session. We hadn’t had one for quite some time. Used to be, we’d never missed a weekly get-together, but recently everyone’s schedule seems so crazy busy, we’re lucky to get one in each month.
Well, at least since graduation.
Again, I left college a semester early, but the other three all got their degrees together. Mackenzie continued an internship she had with Senator Ted Cruz the summer before, and Ashley, who’d already interned for a notable republican congressman, became associate producer for a right-wing Fox News media personality, then later became press secretary for Mark Meadows, then communications director for the Freedom Caucus. Holy Moly.
You see why I said we were complete opposites? At least politically. Allie and I on the progressive left, and Ash and Mac on the far-right conservative side of things. But again, it works for us. Tonight can’t come soon enough.
After a flurry of leads, fact-checking and follow-up, I managed to break away from work later that day just in time to hop on our MAMA Zoom session.
Make that a bitch session. At least for me. It was if we four were living on two different planets. Alternate worlds. Parallel realities. One happy. One sad.
Guess which one Allie and I landed on?
“I couldn’t believe it,” Ashley began. “No one is more shocked than I,” Mackenzie chirped in. “Same, but for me, the word horrified comes to mind,” I added without filters. It wasn’t until Allison said, “I’m just really sad,” that’s when everything truly sunk in for me.
None of us saw it coming. Not really. And now we must learn how to navigate this new and uncharted terrain. Hopefully our friendships can weather the storm, but it might get a bit tricky.
“The thing is, he’s our president now. We’ll just have to see how it goes,” Allison went on to say.
Mackenzie continued, “Don’t worry, what’s the worst thing that can happen?” as all four of us seemed to take in one deep simultaneous breath together.
Silently, I feared the worst. Best to keep those thoughts to myself. At least for now.
The hour flew by and we re-committed to making this a more regular thing right before ending the call. I actually did feel a little bit better. Even if it was most likely only for a fleeting moment. But, I’m proud we were able to discuss opposing views with respect and kindness for one another.
That’s a rare commodity these days. Even with families. It’s best if we can talk things out. Why is that so hard for some people to do that? Hell if I knew. But, I’m determined to regain my hope in humanity, which was lost on election night as I lay curled up in a ball sobbing my eyes out. There must be a way to regain our balance. We must be able to speak about these things. We must…
The thing I find interesting is, in the days immediately after the election, it’s like we poked a bear sleeping soundly in its hibernation cave—and now women in particular are finding the courage to use their voices. Despite the fact that for centuries it’s not been safe to do so.
Now, a battle cry for many was taking form.
“Enough is enough!”
This is partly why I wanted to become a journalist in the first place, and why I also switched from Republican to registering as a Democrat.
When I first became eligible to vote, I signed up as a Republican. Why you might ask? Because I too wanted every financial advantage, right? But over time I began to realize there was more at stake than just accumulating more and more personal wealth.
Money can be the great divider.
And, it’s becoming even more extreme as the middle-class working families are getting squeezed out of the American Dream having to count their pennies even more so than my parents’ generation had to do.
Yes, I do love nice things, but at the expense of others? I don’t think so. Uh oh, I feel a rant coming on. How is it that people can say Trump is good with the economy? Oh baby, what a farce that is.
Have they forgotten about his bankruptcies?
Good on the economy? He is the complete opposite!
And by “they,” I’ll include boss Larry in that group. I’m already seeing the writing on the wall as to what point of view bias my articles are going to have to take. That is at least if I plan on getting a green light from him to publish anything of mine. He’s always looking through it with the bottom-line financial side of things in mind.
I find many conservatives are hyper-focused on money. And, they seem to take it too far when continuously opting for tax credit after tax credit to the detriment of human decency and human rights—not to mention that they seem to have no regard for our environment or the viable sustainability of the planet.
A bit short-sighted, don’t you think?
Climate change? What climate change?
Enough is enough, and that includes when you earn the amount necessary to meet your lifestyle needs, why not care for those who are not so fortunate?
My rant is beginning to pick up steam…
And, don’t get me started on the new crop of billionaires.
When is enough, enough for them?
At what point does compassion and love kick in to serve as our master over power and greed? Call me a tree hugger (I'm not) but the health of our planet is far more essential to the survival of our human species than amassing more power and more money.
“Make America Great Again?” Give me a break.
Why don’t we actually “drain the swamp,” as Donald Trump promised on the campaign trail?
Because then they will no longer be able to refill it with corrupt businessmen and other criminal types, right? Oh, that’s gonna make everything better now, isn’t it?
From Trump’s daughter, Ivanka, hawking her upscale jewelry brand exactly one week after the election during a "60 Minutes” interview, to hundreds of foreign diplomats in the months to come staying at Trump International Hotel in D.C., drinking champagne and saying, “Why wouldn’t I stay at his hotel just blocks from the White House—then we can say ‘I love your new hotel’ to the new president,” rather than getting another hotel nearby.
How do you spell conflict of interest?
C.O.N.F.L.I.C.T. O.F. I.N.T.E.R.E.S.T.
Better not hold my breath waiting for him to show us his tax returns, or we just might keel over dead. I wonder if he has any real money at all—or if he’s just another over-leveraged millionaire like so many land-rich investors.
Shocked was I when, only 10-days after the election, he walked back his commitment not to settle, then agreed to pay $25 million for his Trump University fraud lawsuits?
No, not at all.
How about the tweet parade of misleading statements, such as claiming to win the Electoral College in a landslide and winning “the popular vote” if you deduct the millions of people who voted illegally?
Again, no shock there—and a delusional notion that has been completely discredited again and again. But don’t let that stop his manic mind.
How about not divesting himself from his real estate companies, or placing his assets in a blind trust before taking office, as he also promised to do—and what every other President in the past four decades has done before?
Why should that surprise anyone?
Nope. It didn’t surprise me.
Nor, as promised, did he entrust the management of his companies to his children—and before taking office on January 20, 2017. Shocking right?
Not really.
Eventually, he does end up resigning from over 400 of his companies, but he didn’t divest his assets which means he still has visibility on his private business interests while being in office.
Always an eye on the bottom line, yes?
Most people with any shred of brain smarts can see that Donald Trump is going to do whatever he wants to do, which especially means breaking the mold.
The “drive a dagger in the heart” moment for most Democrats came within hours of his inauguration in his first executive order taking aim at dismantling Obamacare.
Now, that did surprise me.
What also came out of left field was when White House press secretary, Sean Spicer, claiming Trump’s inaugural address gathering crowd size “was the largest audience to ever witness an inauguration, period.” WTF?
Who does that?
Certainly, odd behavior, but perhaps a foreshadowing of what to expect from this administration.
Heck, just a day later, Senior White House counselor, Kellyanne Conway said that Sean Spicer’s crazy talk about the crowd size at Trump’s inauguration weren’t lies, they were just an “alternative set of facts.”
Say that again?
Am I hearing that right?
Or have we just entered the Twilight Zone for real?
What hurt most was the systematic unraveling of our most precious environmental protections. It took merely four days for you to begin stripping away years and years of protections—going, going, gone!!
Allowing construction to resume on the Keystone XL and Dakota Access pipelines? Great…let’s go ahead and taint drinking water and threaten sacred worshipping grounds of Native Americans as one of the first big hatchet jobs on your list.
Yep, exactly why you barred all employees of the EPA from posting on social media or speaking with reporters about their work on environmental protections. Some predict you’re going to rollback 40 years of progress in environmental controls, just so you and your wealthy business buddies can make some more money.
Asshole.
What part of climate crisis do you not understand?
Oh yah, you and your cronies believe it’s a hoax.
And please don’t get me started on immigration. But that’s right, Mexico is going to pay for a wall the size of your inflated ego, right? Gimme a break.
No, give immigrants a break.
What do you have against other cultures and races? Deport first, then ask later? Hell, two of your three wives came from Russia for Christ’s sake!!
That seems pretty hypocritical to me.
Oh, but that’s part of the game, right?
Protests are already springing up over your executive order directing the Departments of Justice and Homeland Security to withhold federal funds from democratic sanctuary cities such as LA, Chicago, and New York.
Speaking of financial things, what do your buddies think about doubling their initiation fee and making them now have to pay $200,000 for membership at Mar-a-Lago? Cashing in on your newfound and elevated status we see.
Pretty ethical, right? Maybe you should use those extra profits to fund your own damn wall.
Mexico certainly isn’t going to do it.
And then, amid vehement backlash, you signed a new travel ban on citizens entering the United States from seven Muslim-majority countries, even though in the 15 years since 9/11, jihadists have killed a total of 94 people on American soil, and none of these Muslims came from the countries you banned. What’s up with that?
But on a positive note, you got to say your favorite phrase “You’re Fired!” to Attorney General Sally Yates for refusing to defend your travel ban. Probably part of the good ol’ days you are referring to, right?
Make America Great Again!
And what this about your demand from FBI Director James Comey? There’s a smell of neediness when you said, “I need loyalty, I expect loyalty,” don’t ya think?
And all this in just your first few weeks on the job?
Chaos is what comes to mind.
But you’re just getting started, aren’t you?
Weeks after taking the helm, you start by rolling back Obama-era protections regulating the safe use and disposal of mercury in American dental offices. Come on. Mercury is seriously dangerous for all human beings. Before this safety regulation was put into place, the dental industry put an estimated five tons of this neurotoxic substance into water supplies each year!
Bloody hell.
And, no Mary’s unfortunately this time.
You do realize that just trace amounts of this can harm brain functionality and damage the nervous system, particularly in pregnant women and infants, right?
You also granted the oil lobby’s big wish list item of rolling back yet another Obama-era regulation, this time the requirement for oil companies to provide purchasing information—so we know when oil is being purchased from corrupt and violent foreign administrations.
These details are good to know, right?
Unless, of course, you’ll save oil industry giants about half a billion dollars each year in compliance costs. Now that’s what you’re talking about, isn’t it? You don’t care about anti-corruption as much as you do about you and your friends big-business profits, right?
While we’re at it, great job granting the coal industry’s own wish list item by repealing regulations that keep them from dumping mercury and arsenic in our rivers! No one needs clean, healthy water, now do we?
As well, during the first week of February, we saw the Republican-led House Administration Committee vote to eliminate the Elections Assistance Commission, which is the only federal agency charged with ensuring voting machines cannot be hacked.
Hmmm…guess you’re already getting on top of your re-election campaign, right? No, no, let’s not waste any time on that. Oh yah, and your habit of making up bully nicknames and tweeting non-stop, even at all hours of the night, appears to be amped up and on steroids.
Which means “I’m just getting started baby!”
Am I correct?
Do you ever sleep?
All of this makes me tired.
My nervous system sorely needs a break. But something tells me getting some relief is just a pipe dream—it’s full steam ahead for at least the next four years, ugh!
I sure hope not. Let’s have faith we’re seeing a storm before the calm. Optimism aside, there’s a real possibility it’ll be the usual “calm before the storm” scenario. And if so, what a shit-show it’s gonna be. Hold onto your hats ladies and gentlemen, because this hurricane looks like it’s going to be a big one.
Make that a “Yuuuge” one!
And yet, there’s always a rainbow on the horizon. Everywhere you look, we can see the particles of this caused by people taking notice. There’s no turning back, as the slumbering giant within us all is finally waking up.
Brace yourselves. Gather your wits. Shore up your stamina and strength. Believe me, I’m actually trying. This impromptu rant is officially over—or at least on pause!
Looking for spiritual guidance days after the election, I reached out to a friend to help understand the madness and ask him to intuitively “write” for me. I needed answers as to what was really going on with all of this.
Kind of like a psychic, but more like a trusted advisor who is able to open up to a wisdom beyond our own. I’ve known him for years and have been impressed with the information he receives.
Okay, I know what you might be thinking, but trust me, he’s solid and not some kind of wacko, woo woo nut job. Although, at this point who am I to judge? I, like many others I know, need a shred of guidance we can hold onto. And something that can help make sense out of what just happened to our political world.
What really did happen?
Allie’s word blindsided comes to mind.
Shellshocked is another.
And so, here is what my intuitive friend’s pen wrote at my request, which, by the way, he assures me is a message directly from Jesus himself. Thanks to the heavens, divine intervention is what might actually shed some light on the situation at hand:
“There is hate and there is love. I chose love even in the crucifixion, and it is love that will always win over hate in all circumstances. Trump spoke to a hurt inside of people. Politicians have led many times to maintain their ego and power. Trump was able to use that pain and the mistrust of the press to his advantage. He is not perfect, but he represents what people long for, change.
So, as you yourself are often able to change the circumstance around you, use that power to change his heart, and be more of what the people long for. Forgive him for his past, and through your loving eyes see possibilities of change. Don’t give into the hate. I never gave into the hate. I live in eternal love.
There may be darkness in the world, but I chose to be in the light, and the light for others to find their own light. The world is a far more compassionate place than ever before. Does it mean there is no longer hate? No. But, there is more light in the world today than even, as you suggest, WWII.
Hold on to your light. The world desperately needs you to. Don’t give in. Don’t give up. I did not die in vain. The crucifixion is truly a celebration, for you can live eternally in love if you choose, so that no matter what persecutions you may go through, no one can put out your light.
Not everyone sees the world as you, but the more you are expressing your light, the more positive evolution occurs.”
Like someone at a funeral who has just lost a loved one, I accepted this beautiful message with a faint smile on my face—and yes, it did give me a shred of hope to hang onto, but the sting was still just too fresh.
Change his heart?
Now, that’ll take a huge dose of love
If it’s even possible.
Again, I reached out to Mom, this time by email. She too thought it was a beautiful message that gave her some measure of comfort, but I laughed at her reply:
“I’m still in the grieving process. Over the shock, but still stuck in the anger part. This will take a long time. I’ll eventually accept it and move on, but I will NEVER accept this BUFFOON as my president!!”
That's not the first time I’d heard this sentiment, and I’m afraid it certainly won’t be the last. It reminds me of an article written by Arianna Huffington (as in the Huffington Post) titled, How to Get Out of the Cycle of Outrage In a Trump World. Amazing at how timely it was for me.
And, to be honest, for most of my colleagues. During these past few weeks, tensions are running high at work. So much so, that I’m not the only one complaining about my boss anymore. Arianna’s article begins by saying,
“If we live in a perpetual state of outrage, Trump wins.”
And that most certainly looks to be his goal. Creating chaos and winning at all costs. Responses and comments like, “Have you heard about the latest thing Trump said?” “Can you believe what the administration just did?”
It’s non-stop and literally makes your head spin.
We witness this when our friends text us about it. We talk about it at dinner. Our inbox and notifications are filled with all the “late-breaking” outrages, which dutifully we check one last time right before a night of restless, fitful sleep. And then again, in the morning, we check first thing, and the cycle starts all over again. And, again and again.
This is no way to live. Literally.
It’s early on in his term, and I’m already exhausted. This is not healthy nor is it sustainable. His endless petty feuds, fabrications, and lies are so outrageous and over the top. I actually think this is his plan. Keep us consumed by fear and distractions—and he wins.
We need to take back control over how we react. And this is something we can do, as Arianna says,
“…when we become depleted and exhausted, and sapped of our energy, we’re not as resourceful, creative, or effective. The goal of any true resistance is to affect outcomes, not just to vent. And the only way to affect outcomes and thrive in our lives is to find the eye in the hurricane, and act from that place of inner strength.”
So, whatever we do, let’s not get stuck in the outrage storm. This particular weather pattern is likely to be here for a long time. Of course, I have the power to step out of the storm, but I’ll need to think carefully about how best to channel my energy—and certainly before taking action.
Maybe I need to take a yoga class.
Seriously. I need a major reset. Not usually one to point fingers, or blame anyone besides me, but Trump, I gotta say this one’s on you!! Yes, a yoga class sounds good right about now. How else will I be able to deal with your proposed use of military force as a means to round up undocumented immigrants? Yes, you heard that right.
And that makes you feel like a big shot, yes?
How else am I going to handle the fact that you lifted a moratorium on new coal mining leases, an industry that already accounts for 10 percent of all U.S. greenhouse gas emissions? Don’t you think we should be reducing that number and not the other way around?
The same must go for the federal use of private correctional facilities. Didn’t we see in the decades before the number of incarcerated people skyrocket 800 percent between 1980 and 2013? That being said, now you want to reverse the significant prison reforms introduced by President Barack Obama?
Of course, you do.
What is it with you and Obama? That ‘birther’ thing was nonsense and you know it. “Was he your nemesis in some past life sort of thing?” I blurted out to no one in particular.
And, while we’re at it, what is it with you and certain media outlets. You bar the New York Times, CNN, and Politico from the daily White House press briefings. You say it’s because they are supposedly “Fake news” outlets?
Really?
Then why don’t you ban Fox News as well? They are obviously living in an alternate reality—just like that set of facts Kelly Conway was talking about. Fox News isn’t even actual news. It’s merely garbage wrapped up as celebrity entertainment. Okay, okay, I’m on a negative roll now I’ve really got to stop doing that.
Time to switch to a positive note.
Let’s see, how about “I’m sick and tired of working for a chauvinistic boss who keeps treating me in, shall we say, a non-professional way.”
What? That’s not positive news?
Okay, then how about this? My Dupont Circle landlord raised the rent on me again. Yay. Of course, I realize Riggs Place isn’t a very affordable neighborhood in the first place. But I love it here. Even George Stephanopoulos lived just one street over on Corcoran during the Clinton years.
Pretty cool, right? But, I don’t want to move. I love the vibe and the restaurants, especially in the Adams Morgan area nearby, which has such an international flair to it.
What’s a working gal to do?
Oh well. Maybe it is time to give my landlord notice.
But before I do, I’m going to have to visit Ben & Jerry’s more often. That’s one of my favorite sweet tooth spots. Gotta have me some comfort food to soothe my tired soul.
But I digress.
Let me try again.
How about this for a positive notion?
Investigative reporters are in high demand due to the shear madness going on in this world. Even so, most of what happens that is newsworthy comes in at such rapid speed and, take your pick, is either shocking or disgusting.
Holy hell.
Give me strength.
Wait. I actually can report on something positive.
The Women’s March was extraordinary!!
Did you see the millions of people all around the world, rising up, staking a claim to use their voices and coalesce for a common cause? Reminds me of a dream I had as a child. But without the being burned at the stake part.
All I can say is, WOW!
We haven’t seen anything like this since the aftermath of September 11, 2001. Granted, I was very young at that time, but even so, I witnessed the common bonds between people in the days right afterward. One of the weirdest things for me was not seeing any airplanes flying in the sky. It felt like the world had literally stopped spinning.
Well, at least we all paused for a few days. Neighbors helped one another. Everyone was so nice. People who didn’t even know each other stopped and talked, and it seemed as if all cultural barriers fell away, and we truly connected with one another on a deeper basis than before.
If we could just bottle that up, what a world it’d be.
The Women’s March is a step in the right direction. Peaceful and powerful. Didn’t the Dalai Lama say it would be the western woman who’d change the world? Well maybe this is the start. If we had more female leaders, I don’t think society would be in the mess we are in now.
We’d have more compassion.
That’s my opinion anyway.
But, if we look at the qualities of a woman vs. a man, it doesn’t take Einstein to see we’d have a different outcome. Think kindness, great listening skills, a fierce motherly strength when needed, more hugs. And of course, we are way better at multi-tasking than men for sure!
Sorry guys, that’s just the way it is.
The millions of women rising up and taking a stand, is one shred of hope I’m clinging to. Otherwise, let’s just call it a day. Let’s crawl back in a hole, keep our mouths shut, and put up with these Neanderthals who continue to run the country, the economy, the environment and our natural resources into the ground.
Yah.
That’s the way to go!
Again, God help us now…
Save us from our wicked and deranged selves as we put more and more old white men in positions of power so they can “grab them by the pussy” anytime they feel like it. And of course, by great, we mean “Make America Great Again” by stripping away all progress made to date, all morals and human decency that previously guided our lives, just so we can relive the good ol’ days again.
Hell no!!
We are better than this.
Perhaps we’re entering a dark evolutionary phase, but I must remain hopeful we will see the error of our ways sooner than later—and eventually dig ourselves out of this God-forsaken hole we are in now.
Please give me strength to navigate the upcoming four years. Or bite my tongue, the next eight years if it takes that long for people to right this sinking ship. Most on the Titanic didn’t know what was going on either, but the powers that be knew the risks. They just weren’t being honest about it and they weren’t prepared for what might happen. No, they were too focused on bigger and better, and all the other ego-driven, money-driven exploits.
Wake up America!!
If we’re not too careful, we may have another Hitler or Mussolini situation on our hands. Oh, I can just hear the naysayers now. You are being overly dramatic. There’s no way that could ever happen again. We know better.
Think again.
Did you know, at the time of Hitler’s rise, the Germans and neighboring Austrians needed better healthcare, better jobs, and had many of the same concerns we face today? And, these people actually thought Hitler was going to make their lives better. That is what he promised. They thought he would solve all their problems.
And that’s why they backed him—in the beginning.
That is until he gained more and more power, and his true colors and motives were revealed—especially when he began maneuvering, manipulating, and changing the game.
That is until more and more people began seeing his genocide intentions and his atrocities were revealed. It took a World War to tame that beast.
Again, wake up America!
Before it’s too late.
The beast may have already returned for another round before the eventual knockout comes about. Trump has convinced millions of people that we are in the process of being taken over by liberals or communists.
It’s all the same “fear of the other” and hate that was spewed by many on the right back in the 1950s. And, now we have a madman at the helm who while gaining popularity is trying to position himself as the only one who can literally save us now.
Can we regain our sanity already?
Pretty please?
“There is beauty in all and a positive to be found in every situation and circumstance…rise above the level of circumstance and embrace them not as your enemies, but as your friends and teachers in order to choose better.”
